Day 35 - North Dakota

Friday, September 4th, 2015 ( Terri and Michael 37th Monthiversary )
*Teddy Roosevelt National Park, Medora, ND
The Park Ranger tells us the story of Theodore Roosevelt and his vacation cottage
 The "Maltese Cross Cabin"

Carolyn touches a spot that Theodore Roosevelt touched on the house
This was once filled with gun shell casings, but they have been taken by people
as souvenirs. There is one single casing left in this maltese cross cutout.

Most of the furniture is from the era, but wasn't Roosevelt's.
The desk did belong to him.

The trunk was Roosevelt's, and you can see his initials on the top

There were hundreds of prairie dogs
 A family of wild turkeys
The prairie dogs seemed as fascinated with us as we were with them

Although very common in this park, we only saw this one buffalo
He was a very majestic looking fellow

*Medora, ND to Bismarck, ND. 133 miles*
Motel 6 - 2433 State Street, Bismarck, ND 58503
 *Kroll's Diner
